Reopening CCDC Post COVID-19

Chevy Chase Dental Center was one of the first dental practices to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic by closing our doors and postponing non-essential and non-urgent dental care.

Now, Chevy Chase Dental Center is now well prepared and equipped, our team is well educated and our doctors are ready to see your smiling faces again.

What’s New About the Patient Experience?

We are adopting the latest protocols and safety equipment to be able to treat our patients.

Social Distancing: Curb Side Check-In; Minimize Encounters

When you arrive, either from your car in the parking lot or outside the front door, you will call us and then wait until we call you back to let you know that we are ready for you to enter the building. A staff member will come to the door to give you a facial mask if you do not have one already.

A Quick Goodbye!

Our new checkout is designed to minimize social contact and is aimed to minimize interaction between the staff and patient, as well as the patient with other patients.

COVID-19 Safety Protocol and Measures:

We have acquired the latest technology to provide the most sterile environment for our patients and ourselves.

Welcome to the future of dentistry! Welcome to Chevy Chase Dental Center!

In addition to OSHA compliance, we have added the following new protective measures:

Our PPEs:

  • N95 mask: every staff member will be wearing the N95 mask for their protection as well as yours.
  • Face Shields: a physical barrier that will be worn by every staff member.
  • Head covers/surgical gowns/gloves: cover us from head to toe.

UV Air Sanitizer:

Brand new disinfection lighting technology. This germicidal light can offer 30 times the power ability of natural sunshine and is designed to kill airborne microorganisms.

Extra Oral Suction:

We have acquired three of these extraoral suction devices, which remove a high volume of droplets and aerosols produced during treatment, reducing the risk of cross infection between doctors and patients, and protecting respiratory health. We will be using these new devices, in addition to our saliva ejectors and high-speed suction.

Rubber Dams:

A protective sheet with a hole that covers a tooth during certain dental procedures. The hole allows the dentist to isolate the treatment area with a dental clamp around the tooth.

Air Spray Sanitizers:

We are implementing sanitizers that kill airborne microorganisms. An air sanitizer is not an air freshener.

Air Purifier Machines:

We are also implementing new air purifiers to purify and filter the air in the practice (Coway AP-1512HH Mighty Air Purifiers with True HEPA filters).

We have implemented these changes in procedures, protocols and equipment, in order to continue to be able to provide you the care you expect and have received in the past, even during this outbreak of Covid-19. As always, we are devoted to helping you safely maintain good oral care.
